Wellbeing Ambassadors

Our Wellbeing Ambassador Programme is a robust training course and package of support that trains young people in evidence based tools and strategies that enables them to effectively support their younger peers to develop wellbeing and resilience.  Wellbeing Ambassador training enables young people to work within a structured resilience building framework that supports their peers to develop resourcefulness, initiative and focus on their individual strengths and skills essential for the development or wellbeing. We ensure through the training the ambassadors are clear on their roles and responsibilities that help develop peer wellbeing without taking on their problems and becoming over burdened and worried.

The Wellbeing Ambassador Programme also provides support the to the school or organisation to deliver the programme through co-design with staff, evaluation of the benifits of the programme for the ambassadors and the peers they support, to ensure the programme is a success and supports the bespoke needs of the Wellbeing Ambassadors and the peers they support.

Benefits of the Wellbeing Ambassador Programme

  • We provide Wellbeing Ambassadors with practical coaching techniques developed to support young people whilst improving confidence and motivation, learning how to make their goals achievable and manage stress.
  • Wellbeing Ambassadors gain valuable skills which can enhance their CV and higher education applications. They can use their experiences to enhance personal statements and as examples of accomplishments in interview situations.
  • Peer support has been proven to help young people who lack confidence or are feeling stressed about school work or exams. Difficulty with transitions such as progressing from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 can also be supported through peer to peer support projects.

Once trained the Wellbeing Ambassadors go on to run a range of young person led wellbeing projects, these could include; running transition projects for younger peers, one to one peer support or mental health anti stigma projects.

Worth-it also provide Wellbeing Ambassadors with a refresher session; as well as providing ongoing support and advice to the organisation/pastoral team support the ambassadors succesfully deliver their projects.
